Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases

Many common health conditions are linked to blood clot formation and inflammation. These can cause serious health complications and even death.  We plan to investigate whether patterns in the Full Blood Count tests could indicate heart and brain diseases on a large scale with diverse groups of patients. Our goal is to identify these signs earlier and potentially make predictions about the patient’s prognosis.

We will also examine the effects of treatments such as anti-platelet medications commonly used for cardiovascular diseases on blood test results.  We will compare the results from different groups, such as individuals without known heart problems who are matched in terms of age and gender, and people with varying levels of cardiovascular diseases.
